FAQ

Can i try cast. before i commit to a term?

Of course! We offer a two-week trial for a one-off payment of just £10 (for CAST. Minis, Juniors & Seniors) during which time the prospective student may try any of the age-appropriate classes except those involving the competition teams. There is no commitment to continue following the trial although we hope you will! Those who continue will be charged a pro rata rate for what remains of that term. Payments can be made by monthly instalments in advance or in full using cash, cheque or bank transfer.

do you offer any discounts?

We offer a 25% discount, applied to the fees of siblings of an older full fee paying student.

WHAT CLOTHES / SHOES DO I WEAR FOR LESSONS?

You should wear something cool and comfortable in which you are able to move freely. All students, except those taking a two-week trial must wear a CAST. uniform T shirt, which can be purchased at reception. They should also wear black leggings / trousers and footwear as indicated below . . .

The CAST. Studios have the highest quality, fully sprung floors installed, and in keeping with performing arts / dance studio etiquette, no outdoor shoes are allowed on the CAST. studio floors.  Ideally your footwear should be appropriate for the type of class / performance - so ballet shoes for ballet, tap shoes for tap and jazz shoes for dance.  In some disciplines, stocking feet / bare feet are perfectly acceptable.

For exercise classes, trainers or plimsoles may be worn provided they are only used on studio floors and are not used outdoors - so please bring your footwear and change into them on the landing outside the studio, where there are open cabinets for storage of personal belongings whilst in class. (These are covered by CCTV.)

Shoes intended for use in classes must not be worn until the user is within the CAST. premises.

Please be aware that outdoor shoes can pick up grit, fragments of broken glass / metal shards, etc., that can cause injury to participants and damage the floors.  They can also pick up contaminants which, even in minute quantities, have the ability to cause infection to users of the studios. Whilst we clean the studio floors on a daily basis, it is not always possible to clean between classes; many classes involve students of all ages being in uncovered contact with the floors.

For similar reasons, street soiled clothes should not be worn as a general rule and there are changing facilities available when needed.

We trust you will appreciate that these restrictions are there not solely for the protection of the expensive floors we have installed, but equally for the protection of everyone involved with CAST.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO LESSONS?

Plenty to drink! Lots of energy and your imagination!

Light snacks and drinks are available to purchase at reception.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY FIRST LESSON?

We will normally have exchanged emails or messages by another means (Facebook, etc.) and this will provide any information you seek regarding CAST. and our products. We encourage you to view our Facebook pages,

On arrival at CAST. for the first time, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your first lesson so we can welcome you and get you settled in. We will ask you to complete the registration forms, which include requests for medical information and a media consent form. (We regret that, due to the nature of our classes and our use of social media, that we cannot provide tuition without this signed consent.)

For those who decide to continue with CAST., there is a private members Facebook group, which we frequently use to update our students’ parents /guardians with news and events.

cAN PARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS STAY WHILST LESSONS ARE IN PROGRESS?

There is a ‘greenroom’ waiting areas at CAST. where parents and family are welcome to relax whilst classes are ongoing.

cAN PARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS watch lessons?

There’s no facility to observe lessons whilst they are in progress. If this causes any concern, please discuss with us.

HOW DO I MAKE PAYMENT?

We operate a Class Manager system where payments can be made online using a bank card. We can also take payment via interbank transfers, or in cash at CAST. premises.
We cannot provide credit facilities and so payments must be made in advance in monthly instalments or in full using cash, card, cheque or bank transfer. Please note that once a place in a particular class has been reserved for each student, no refund / credit is made for missed classes, except in exceptional circumstances and at the sole discretion of the CAST. Principal.

Where a student’s fees are not paid in advance as indicated above, they will not be allowed to attend classes after the expiry of two weeks and their place on the course may be removed and provided to another person, who may be on a waiting list seeking a place.

IS THERE PARKING AT CAST. ?

Yes, parking is free on the site we occupy and is shared with Sainsbury’s!
